The Road To Happiness
Although Paris is always a good idea, I pretty much live a European lifestyle here in the States. I eat farm to table clean foods. I believe a good drink is my birthright. I savor long meals with loved ones. I adore my family and friends.
My happy places are cafes and alfresco dining solo. I believe in hole in the wall jazz spots with copious amounts of wine. I’m a huge fan of leisure.
I also take in loads of art and culture on a daily basis. I enjoy good books and outdoor markets.
Plus I walk everywhere (thumbs up to staying fit!) because I don’t own a car. So not only do I save on gas money and gym fees but I’m always out exploring the city on foot.
I kinda mourn for the folks who only live in techni-color when they go on vacation. How meh! Then for the next 6-8 months its pretty much the rut and routine of work- home- repeat. Where’s the fun in that?
Why not fill all of your weekends with exploration and excitement, not just when you hop on a plane.
Now don’t get me wrong I love to travel. But whether I’m in my home city or visiting someplace new I pretty much experience the same essence: interesting folks, good food & drink, lively adventures, art & culture, new thoughts, and a suitcase of stories…on repeat.
I guess it’s because, ‘Wherever I go, there I am. I take myself with me.’
