Although Oakland expat Gertrude Stein was alpha of all things salon, think close friendships and walls filled with Picasso baby’s for reals, I’mma have to push back on this one.
You. Can. Do. B O T H.
Y’all know my story! Here are a few highlights:
** While on a date in DC I was photographed for The Washington Post Sunday Style section, #ThatGirl
** My college graduation gift to myself was a Louis Vuitton bag and a framed limited edition print.
** I love contemporary art AND fashion, almost more than Kanye.
What’s the point of having original art on your wall and you’re not at the same time gifted with personal style. It’s one off and you get major cool points deducted. Big time!
So do both. Period. You’ll thank me later.
Howevers. If my client finds herself at the crossroad between red bottoms and an original work of art I would strongly advise her to invest in the art.
Sorry ladies but like luxury cars shoes depreciate in value once they leave the parking lot of Saks. I’d rather see art appreciate in a financial portfolio and have you hold out for that sample sale.
